Heritage's loss came about despite a quality game from Cole Fujinaga, who had 23 assists and three digs. With that strong performance, Fujinaga is now averaging an impressive 12.2 assists per game. Nathan Panggat also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.
Meanwhile, Pittsburg didn't have quite enough to beat Freedom on Tuesday and fell 3-2.
Pittsburg took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-18, 16-25, 25-23, 15-11.
Defeat or not, Pittsburg got some senior leadership from Angel Garcia and Angel Lozano De La Cruz. Garcia had 13 digs and two aces, while Lozano De La Cruz had nine digs and three aces. Those 13 digs set a new season-high mark for Garcia.
Pittsburg's loss dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
