Basketball Recap: Helix Wins Going Away Against El Capitan

Helix won the last time they faced El Capitan and things went their way on Friday too. The Helix Highlanders took down the El Capitan Vaqueros 59-41. The Highlanders didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Despite the defeat, El Capitan saw an underclassman step up: freshman Trystan Billinger went 5 for 8 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Trevin Curo, who posted six points and five boards.

Helix's record now sits at 8-16. As for El Capitan, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 15 of their last 18 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.

Helix will be playing in front of their home fans against Mount Miguel at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. As for El Capitan, they will head out on the road to face off against Monte Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
