Baseball Game Preview: Hanover Park Hornets vs. Parsippany Redhawks

The Hanover Park Hornets will venture away from home to challenge the Parsippany Redhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hanover Park will be strutting in after a victory while Parsippany will be coming in after a loss.

On Saturday, Hanover Park sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Midland Park. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Meanwhile, Parsippany was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Jefferson Township, falling 11-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Redhawks have suffered since April 24, 2024.

Matthew Parker and Bryan Sunga stepped up to the plate in a big way. Parker went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Sunga went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run was Sunga's first of the season.

Hanover Park's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Parsippany, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Hanover Park beat Parsippany 9-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
