Recap: Kenwood Bluebirds vs. Edgewood Rams
This season hasn't been kind to the Kenwood Bluebirds, who are still winless after their fourth match. They took a 66-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Edgewood on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Kenwood's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Mbuyi, who scored 16 points. Christian Bookman was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Kenwood has fallen quite a ways from their 17-7 record last season and are now at 0-4. As for Edgewood, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.
Kenwood won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Forest Park at 1:00 p.m. on December 16th. Forest Park presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kenwood in Maryland (Forest Park is ranked 74th, while Kenwood is ranked 237th). As for Edgewood, they will head out on the road to face off against C. Milton Wright at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. C. Milton Wright will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
