Recap: Curlew Cougars vs. Northport Mustangs
The Curlew Cougars entered their tilt with the Northport Mustangs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Curlew took down Northport 48-33 on Wednesday. For Curlew, this counts as revenge for the 44-39 loss Northport walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Curlew to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Lena Baker, who scored 16 points along with 7 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Baker has scored at least 25% of Curlew's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Theia Grady, who scored 8 points along with 6 steals.
Curlew's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-1. As for Northport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Curlew will take on Cusick at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northport, they will play host again and welcome Medical Lake, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
