Softball Game Preview: Canyon Crest Academy Ravens vs. Mission Bay Buccaneers

The Canyon Crest Academy Ravens will take on the Mission Bay Buccaneers at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Canyon Crest Academy is headed into the match having just suffered their closest defeat since March 27, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Brawley by a score of 6-4.

Julia Piekarski and Alexis McNamee did some serious damage despite the final result: Piekarski scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while McNamee went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most runs Piekarski has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Melony Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Mission Bay came up short against Imperial on Monday, falling 8-1. The game marked the Buccaneers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Mission Bay saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Indy Beesley, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Canyon Crest Academy now has a losing record of 2-3-1. As for Mission Bay, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
