Basketball Recap: Floyd Central Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Floyd Central had won three straight games and Maddy Engle did her part to make it four on Friday. The Floyd Central Jaguars strolled past the Betsy Layne Bobcats with points to spare, taking the game 58-41 thanks in part to Engle, who went 8 of 17 on her way to 27 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Raegan Laferty, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. Laferty is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Floyd Central's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Betsy Layne, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Floyd Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 70-45 loss against Rowan County on the 14th. As for Betsy Layne, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Pike County Central at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
