Softball Recap: Firth Takes a Loss

After flying high against Soda Springs last Friday, Firth came back down to earth. The Cougars came up short against the Wendell Trojans on Monday, falling 21-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 back in March.

Mckenna Erickson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-1. Meg Leslie also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Firth's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Wendell, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Firth will welcome Ririe at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Wendell, they will face off against Buhl at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
