Basketball Recap: Rosewood Eagles vs. Neuse Charter Cougars
Rosewood lost against Neuse Charter last Wednesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Rosewood Eagles fell 55-44 to the Neuse Charter Cougars. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Rosewood saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Braxson Waters posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tielen Mccrae, who earned eight points and seven rebounds.
Neuse Charter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Klayton Tew out in front who put up 14 points along with eight boards and five steals. Tew has become a key player for Neuse Charter: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least five steals, but 8-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tev Collins, who scored eight points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.
Rosewood's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Neuse Charter, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Rosewood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-53 loss against North Duplin on the 10th. As for Neuse Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 73-48 defeat against Lakewood on the 11th.
