Baseball Recap: Plumstead Christian Drops Season-High Score on Alliance Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Plumstead Christian). They were the clear victors by a 22-3 margin over the Alliance Christian Gryphons on Monday. Considering Plumstead Christian has won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Chase Blattner was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Declan Glass was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Plumstead Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .324 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Plumstead Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Alliance Christian, their defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Plumstead Christian will welcome Renaissance Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Alliance Christian, they are taking a road trip to take on Valley Forge Baptist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.17 runs per game on average), something the Gryphons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
