Basketball Game Preview: Fort Wayne Northrop Bruins vs. Marion Giants

Fort Wayne Northrop is 1-8 against Marion since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Fort Wayne Northrop Bruins will face off against the Marion Giants at 1:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Monday, Fort Wayne Northrop came up short against Woodlan and fell 63-55. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Donlaray Reese, who posted 14 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was James Browning, who went 5 of 9 en route to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, on ThursdayMuncie Central kept up with Marion until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. Marion was the clear victor by a 76-55 margin over Muncie Central. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Giants.

The win got Marion back to even at 8-8. As for Fort Wayne Northrop, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Fort Wayne Northrop ended up a good deal behind Marion when the teams last played back in January of 2023, losing 84-65. Can Fort Wayne Northrop avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
