Basketball Game Preview: El Dorado Aztecs vs. Hanks Knights

The El Dorado Aztecs will take on the Hanks Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. El Dorado will be strutting in after a victory while Hanks will be coming in after a defeat.

El Dorado will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Parkland, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. El Dorado came out on top against Parkland by a score of 51-43 on Friday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead El Dorado to victory, but perhaps none more so than Quintez Floyd, who posted ten points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Floyd a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Velasquez, who had 14 points.

Meanwhile, Hanks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-61 heartbreaker at the hands of Del Valle. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by exactly three points.

El Dorado is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.2 points per game. As for Hanks, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-17.

Things could have been worse for El Dorado, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-33 loss to Hanks in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. Can El Dorado avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
