Baseball Recap: Ray Comes Up Short

Ray came into this matchup off a tough 14-run loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Mogollon Mustangs by a score of 6-4 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bearcats have suffered since April 19, 2024.

Jesse James made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. James Ruiz was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Ray's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Mogollon, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Coming up, Ray will face off against Coolidge at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Ray is facing Coolidge at the right time seeing as Coolidge is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Mogollon, they will venture away from home to face off against Joseph City at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Joseph City has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.5 runs per game on average), something Mogollon will no doubt try to take advantage of.
