Basketball Recap: Michigan Lutheran Seminary Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Michigan Lutheran Seminary won the last time they faced Ithaca and things went their way on Friday too. The Michigan Lutheran Seminary Cardinals snuck past the Ithaca Yellowjackets with a 48-44 win. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 198th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 495th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary found their leader in freshman Kerin Gardner, who went 5 for 9 en route to 15 points and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Roth, who posted six points.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Ithaca, they moved to 4-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games.
