            Volleyball Recap: Donna Redskins vs. Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets        
        
		
        
        
            Donna lost against Edcouch-Elsa back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Tuesday. The Redskins lost  3-0 to the Yellowjackets. The Redskins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
 The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-21,  25-11.
Donna's offense was headlined by  Madison Garza and  Sonya Perez, who picked up six kills apiece. They were helped by Alyson Perez and  Olivia Ramirez, who contributed eight assists each. Finally,  Kaylee-Star Howell kept Donna's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.
 Edcouch-Elsa's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Alliyah Ramirez led the charge by  getting 16  digs and two  aces. Ramirez has been hot for a while, having  posted ten or more  digs the last 18 times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Maya Flores, who  had 18  assists and ten  digs.
Donna's loss dropped their record down to 15-18. As for Edcouch-Elsa, their win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 21-16.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Donna is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Lopez  at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Meanwhile, Edcouch-Elsa will  challenge  rival Porter  at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
