Baseball Recap: Averill Park Comes Up Short

Averill Park has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.68 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They came up short against the Colonie Central Wolfpack, falling 15-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warriors have suffered since April 23rd.

Averill Park's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8-1. As for Colonie Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Averill Park and Colonie Central should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Warriors will take on Saugerties at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (91 vs. 214). Meanwhile, Colonie Central (ranked 23rd) will meet South Glens Falls (ranked 89th) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wolfpack 3, the Bulldogs 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
