Upstate Eight - River recap October 29, 2013

Batavia added to the longest winning streak in Upstate Eight - River this week by beating Elgin, 62-14. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.

North and South Elgin played the most contested game in the league this week, with North eventually emerging with a 27-25 victory. Evan Kurtz ran for 170 yards in the win.

Jimmy Mitchell threw for 264 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 15-22 with 0 interceptions.

Scott Robak was a key player and the best on defense this week as East beat Larkin. He grabbed 2 interceptions.

Mitchell put up the best numbers in passing as the Fighting Saints beat the Royals. Mitchell's favorite target this week was Brannon Barry, who caught 8 passes for 116 yards.

The leading receiver in the league this season is Kyle Brown. The Geneva star has 33 catches for 704 yards.

Geneva's T.J. Miller needs only 54 yards against St. Patrick next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 172 carries Miller has put up 946 yards this year.

Batavia led the league in scoring this week after putting up 62 points on the Maroons. Micah Coffey threw for 45 yards and 2 touchdowns during the win.
