Basketball Recap: Mountainside Comes Up Short

Mountainside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 77-49 loss at the hands of the Trivium Prep Crimson Knights.

When it comes to explaining why Mountainside lost, don't look at Andrew Watkins. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 27 points and 15 rebounds. Tyler Fry was another key player, putting up nine points.

Mountainside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Trivium Prep, they moved to 4-16 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountainside has already played their next matchup (against Wickenburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Trivium Prep will take on Glendale Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trivium Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
