It was a good run, but McMinn Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Sweetwater Wildcats by a score of 3-2. The Chargers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

McMinn Central's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 22-12. As for Sweetwater, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-9-1.

McMinn Central has already played their next contest, a 4-2 win against Sequatchie County on the 10th. As for Sweetwater, they will challenge Pigeon Forge on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Wildcats' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Tigers have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
