Basketball Recap: DeLand Gets the Win

Flagler Palm Coast came into Monday's match looking for another win against DeLand, but Justin Suarez wouldn't allow it. The DeLand Bulldogs took down the Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs 69-51 on Monday thanks in part to Suarez, who went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 35 points. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Davis, who posted eight points and five assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

Flagler Palm Coast lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Corinthians Watson Jr, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nateshawn Royal, who put up nine points and seven boards.

DeLand's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Flagler Palm Coast, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-10.

DeLand wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-42 defeat against Atlantic on the 28th. Flagler Palm Coast has also already played their next match, a 73-65 victory against Pine Ridge on the 28th.
