Basketball Game Preview: Sayre Eagles vs. Watonga Eagles

We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Sayre has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Friday, Sayre didn't have too much trouble with Hollis as they won 56-42. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Watonga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 50-32 bruising from Cashion. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Wildcats are ranked 64th).

Sayre now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Watonga, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.

Sayre might still be hurting after the 63-39 defeat they got from Watonga in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Sayre avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
