Football Recap: Northview Falls to Tate in First Game of Season

Northview unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Tate Aggies on Tuesday, falling 34-7. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Gabriella Smart went supernova for Tate, throwing for 155 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes, while also rushing for 40 yards. The dominant performance gave Smart a new career-high in passing yards. A healthy portion of Smart's aerial production (80 yards to be exact) went to Miller Trinidad.

Northview will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Escambia at 6:30 p.m. on March 10th. As for Tate, they will take on Pine Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
