Preview: Long Beach Bearcats vs. Perry Central Bulldogs
The Long Beach Bearcats will head out on the road to face off against the Perry Central Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Long Beach is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Long Beach ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Bay out 43-41. The victory was just what Long Beach needed coming off of a 61-33 defeat in their prior game.
Among those leading the charge was Wayne Ulrich iii, who scored 20 points. Andre Windham was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Meanwhile, after only 25 points in their last contest, Perry Central made sure to put some points up on the board against East Central on Tuesday. Perry Central was the clear victor by a 71-48 margin over East Central.
Long Beach's win bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Perry Central, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Long Beach beat Perry Central 44-34 in their previous matchup back in November of 2016. The rematch might be a little tougher for Long Beach since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
