Baseball Recap: Gladewater's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Gladewater waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Frankston Indians with a sharp 7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

Gladewater got a big performance out of Preston Bohanon, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Bohanon launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubry Floyd, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Gladewater pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Frankston, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Gladewater will square off against West Rusk at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Frankston, they will challenge West Sabine on Thursday. Frankston's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so West Sabine's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
