Softball Recap: Byron Nelson's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Byron Nelson entered their tilt with Mansfield on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Mansfield Tigers. While the Bobcat didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-19-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Madison McBride was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Pardue, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Byron Nelson's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs over those games. As for Mansfield, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-4.

Coming up, Byron Nelson will be taking part in a tournament against Forney at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Byron Nelson: 4.1, Forney: 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
