Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kickapoo). Their defense stepped up to hand the Carthage Tigers a 5-0 shutout on Tuesday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Kickapoo's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri soccer rankings (they are ranked second, while Carthage are ranked 63rd).

Kickapoo's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Carthage, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Coming up, Kickapoo will head out to square off against Joplin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carthage, they will welcome Ozark at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ozark will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Carthage surely won't give up without a fight.
