Soccer Recap: Bessemer City Comes Up Short

Bessemer City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cherryville Ironmen. Bessemer City were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cherryville apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Bessemer City's goal came courtesy of Makayla Ball, who's now up to five this season.

Bessemer City's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Cherryville, they moved to 5-9 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

While Bessemer City had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
