Baseball Game Preview: Steele Canyon Cougars vs. Monte Vista Monarchs

For the second straight game, Steele Canyon will face off against Monte Vista. The Cougars will host the Monarchs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, Steele Canyon didn't have quite enough to beat Monte Vista and fell 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by just one run.

For Monte Vista's part, Tristan Walker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, Antonio Mccomb was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Damian Ordaz, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Steele Canyon's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-12. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only two runs. As for Monte Vista, with the victory, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-15.
