Basketball Recap: Ocala Christian Takes a Loss

Ocala Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Citrus Hurricanes 48-16. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-14 back in December of 2024.

Citrus was led to victory by Rachel Chiles and Demi Williamson. Chiles went 5 of 8 on her way to 12 points and five steals, while Williamson posted eight points and seven steals. Williamson has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 14 times she's played. Samantha Fraiser was another key player, putting up nine points.

Ocala Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Citrus, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.

Ocala Christian has already played their next game (against Bronson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Citrus didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-36 defeat against Weeki Wachee on the 24th.
