Basketball Recap: King Pellum's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Xavier Prep over Indio

Xavier Prep lost against Indio back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Saints fell 60-47 to the Rajahs. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Xavier Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was King Pellum, who went 9-for-15 to rack up 20 points. The contest was Pellum's third in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Travis Silva, who shot 67% from the field on his way to 16 points.

Xavier Prep's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Indio, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Xavier Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-35 win against Cathedral City on the 6th. As for Indio, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-41 defeat against Buena on the 6th.
