Baseball Game Preview: Mariemont Warriors vs. Miami Valley Christian Academy Lions

The Mariemont Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Miami Valley Christian Academy Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mariemont's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Finneytown with a sharp 10-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Miami Valley Christian Academy won against Purcell Marian last Monday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Everything went the Lions' way against St. Bernard-Elmwood Place as they made off with a 10-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Luke Autry was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Miami Valley Christian Academy got a massive performance out of James Bowling, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those RBI were Bowling's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Evan Lafferty, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Mariemont's record is now 7-5. As for Miami Valley Christian Academy, their record now sits at 13-4.

Mariemont took their win against Miami Valley Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-2 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
