Basketball Recap: Furr Comes Up Short

Furr lost against Yates back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Furr Brahmans came up short against the Yates Lions, falling 54-34. The Brahmans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Yates to victory were Taniyah Cooper and Karneshia Smith. Cooper dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Smith posted 17 points along with six steals and five assists. Smith is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dillynn Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 boards.

Furr's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Yates, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.

Furr didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-33 loss against Northside on the 11th. As for Yates, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 79-9 win against Scarborough on the 11th.
