Football Recap: Lake Region Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Lake Region unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the George Jenkins Eagles on Tuesday, falling 49-7. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

George Jenkins had a senior duo take command as Daphne Goff threw for 122 yards and four touchdowns and Morgan Walsh picked up 75 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Region will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bartow at 7:00 p.m. on February 28th. As for George Jenkins, they will square off against Celebration at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
