Softball Recap: Michigan Lutheran's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Michigan Lutheran dropped their record down to 10-8 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (9-6), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 9-6.

Eli Halquist made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Elder, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

As for River Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games.

On River Valley's side, Ava Ledesma was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits Ledesma has posted since back in April. Johnna Rochefort was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Michigan Lutheran will take on Watervliet at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for River Valley, they will face off against Eau Claire at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
