Basketball Game Preview: Wray Eagles vs. Platte Valley Broncos

The Wray Eagles will face off against the Platte Valley Broncos at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Thursday, Wray came up short against Wiggins and fell 52-42. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 13-9 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Platte Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-40 heartbreaker at the hands of Liberty Common.

Wray will have to contain Regan Edstrom as he made an impact in Platte Valley's last game. He posted 11 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Edstrom has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rocco Minner, who had six points along with seven boards and three blocks.

Wray's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Platte Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.
