Basketball Recap: Rapid City Christian Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Rapid City Christian had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.7 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 63-41 margin over the Hot Springs Bison. Given the Comets' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Bison are ranked 116th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rapid City Christian pushed their record up to 19-2 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points over those games. As for Hot Springs, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Rapid City Christian nor Hot Springs have any future games scheduled.
