Basketball Game Preview: Haslett Vikings vs. Williamston Hornets

The Haslett Vikings will head out to challenge the Williamston Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Haslett is headed into the match having just suffered their closest loss since December 13, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Swartz Creek by a score of 46-44.

Meanwhile, Williamston was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 56-51 to Forest Hills Northern. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 405th, while the Huskies are ranked 157th).

Haslett's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Williamston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Haslett won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January, slipping by Williamston 54-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Haslett since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
