Softball Recap: Myrtle Beach Comes Up Short

Myrtle Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Waccamaw Warriors. That's two games in a row now that the Seahawks have lost by exactly two runs.

Madison Ashmore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Myrtle Beach saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Autumn Chapman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Myrtle Beach's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Myrtle Beach will look to defend their home field on Friday against Goose Creek at 6:30 p.m. As for Waccamaw, they will square off against Carvers Bay at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
