Recap: Gainesville Cardinals vs. Osbourn Eagles
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Battlefield, The Gainesville Cardinals were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Osbourn by a score of 20-8. Given Gainesville's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Osbourn is ranked 229th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Colton Kilmer got back to being his usual excellent self, as he threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns. Aidan McClafferty also helped out with an impressive 160 receiving yards.
Gainesville's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.5 points per game. As for Osbourn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.
Gainesville will be playing at home against Freedom at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Osbourn, they will head out on the road to face off against Battlefield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Battlefield is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
