Preview: Lansing Lions vs. Pittsburg Dragons
Lansing has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Pittsburg Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Lansing blew past Turner, posting a 86-6 victory at home. The victory was just what Lansing needed coming off of a 42-0 defeat in their prior game.
Lexton Grafke and Tyrone Butler jr. were among the main playmakers for Lansing as the former picked up 140 receiving yards and three touchdowns and the latter rushed for 133 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Grafke is on a roll when it comes to receiving yards, as he's now posted 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Ryan French also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Pittsburg never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 52-0 win over North on the road. The result was nothing new for Pittsburg, who have now won three contests by 26 points or more so far this season.
Wyatt Rink was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.
Their wins bumped Lansing to 4-4 and Pittsburg to 5-3.
Things could have been worse for Lansing, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 31-14 loss to Pittsburg in their previous meeting back in October of 2021. Can Lansing avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
