Recap: Holtville Vikings vs. Brawley Wildcats
The Holtville Vikings lost against the Brawley Wildcats last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Holtville took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brawley. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Holtville in their matchups with Brawley: they've now lost six in a row.
Domanic Vallejo continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Brawley, going 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 4 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vallejo has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ricardo DeLaPaz, who scored six points along with five assists and two steals.
Holtville has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Brawley, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-11.
Holtville will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Southwest EC at 7:00 p.m. Southwest EC has now lost 17 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 18. As for Brawley, they will head out on the road to take on Calipatria at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Calipatria will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
