Basketball Game Preview: Medomak Valley Panthers vs. Oceanside Mariners

The Medomak Valley Panthers will challenge the Oceanside Mariners at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Medomak Valley comes in on 17 and Oceanside on three.

On Tuesday, Medomak Valley humbled Erskine Academy with a 64-29 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Oceanside didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Mt. Ararat on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 65-60 victory.

Medomak Valley pushed their record up to 17-0 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Oceanside, they are also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Everything went Medomak Valley's way against Oceanside in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as Medomak Valley made off with a 66-44 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Medomak Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
