Basketball Recap: Waukegan Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Waukegan hadn't done well against Warren Township recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Waukegan Bulldogs took down the Warren Township Blue Devils 60-41. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 388th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Waukegan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Evelyn Petty led the charge by going 6 of 9 en route to 16 points and four steals. Those four steals gave Petty a new career-high. Baakir Christian was another key player, going 6 for 7 on her way to 14 points and eight rebounds.
