Baseball Game Preview: Northshore Panthers vs. Fontainebleau Bulldogs

The Northshore Panthers will head out to take on the Fontainebleau Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Northshore is coming into the game hot, having won their last 11 games.

Northshore's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Holden with a sharp 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Ethan Freeman looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brody Dukes, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Aviel Johnson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Meanwhile, Fontainebleau didn't have quite enough to beat Northshore on Thursday and fell 3-2. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Northshore's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-4-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Fontainebleau, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Northshore skirted past Fontainebleau 3-2 in their previous matchup on Thursday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
