Basketball Recap: Fort Dale Academy Takes a Loss

Fort Dale Academy was the 66-61 winner over Hooper Academy when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Fort Dale Academy Eagles took a 54-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hooper Academy Colts on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the Colts are ranked 42nd).

Fort Dale Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Hooper Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Dale Academy will face off against Clarke Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hooper Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Chambers Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hooper Academy is facing Chambers Academy at the right time seeing as Chambers Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
