Basketball Game Preview: Legacy Charter Eagles vs. Foundation Academy Lions + Official Tickets

The Legacy Charter Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Foundation Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Legacy Charter is leaving town to face Foundation Academy after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Eagles took a 33-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Washington Classical Christian on Monday.

Legacy Charter's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Joi Medley, who posted five points along with 22 boards and seven steals, and Nadiah Still, who scored ten points in addition to eight steals and seven rebounds. Medley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Layni Combs, who earned seven points and six boards.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Foundation Academy beat Winter Springs 64-60 on Tuesday.

Foundation Academy's win came from a few key players Legacy Charter will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Anai Braxton, who shot 50% from the field en route to 16 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ava Chmielinski, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 13 points and seven boards.

Legacy Charter suffered a grim 60-34 defeat to Foundation Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
