Baseball Recap: Cigarroa Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Cigarroa was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots. The Toros have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Eric Gonzalez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Pablo Serna also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Cigarroa's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Mission Veterans Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

While Cigarroa had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
