Recap: Immaculate Mustangs vs. Staples Wreckers

The Immaculate Mustangs were the 63-50 winner over the Staples Wreckers when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Immaculate fell 64-52 to Staples on Friday.

Staples was led to victory by Sam Clachko and Adam Udell. Clachko dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Udell scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Clachko has scored at least 25% of Staples' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Tobias, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.

Immaculate's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Staples, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Immaculate has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome New Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Staples will take on Ridgefield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ridgefield knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Staples likes a good challenge.
