Soccer Game Preview: Temple Christian vs. Blue Ridge Christian

Temple Christian is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Blue Ridge Christian is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Crusaders will host the Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Temple Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.2 goals per game this season.

On Friday, Temple Christian needed a bit of extra time to put away Fresta Valley Christian. They never let the Pioneers get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Give Temple Christian's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Luke Gifford, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Regents kept up with Blue Ridge Christian until halftime on Tuesday, but afterwards: not so much. The Bears put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 5-2 victory. Blue Ridge Christian might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by three goals or more this season.

Blue Ridge Christian's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Temple Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2-1.

Temple Christian suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Blue Ridge Christian when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
