Baseball Recap: Cedar Valley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Timpview last Thursday, Cedar Valley came back down to earth. The Aviators took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles on Friday. The Aviators have struggled against the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Cedar Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Blodgett, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Cedar Valley's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-7. As for Maple Mountain, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-1.

While Cedar Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
